This farm is situated 15 km from the Historic English settler village of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
The farm is mainly utilised for cattle grazing on sour veldt, with a carrying capacity of 4 ha to 1 Large Stock Unit (LSU) and can carry 70 LSU in total. There is a good cattle kraal with a spray dip system. With little or no frost, the area is suitable for vegetable production and an area of 0.6Ha is currently being established under drip irrigation. This can be expanded further should you be interested in growing sweet peppers on contract (Carara Agro have a large number of contract growers in the area). Dragon fruit are well suited to the area and 1500 cuttings are presently being rooted for the establishment of a small orchid.
The large registered dam, with a capacity of 178 396 cubic meters, is stocked with Bass and Mozambique tilapia and supplements the 1000 l/Hr bore hole in supplying water to the farm. The average rainfall for the area since 2013 is 709 mm per annum.
Naturally occurring game on the farm include oribi, reedbuck and duiker with the odd bushbuck, warthog and bushpig.
