An exceptional property providing not only the possibility to live in a spectacular environment but also the chance to earn a good income through lettings and more. Set in landscaped gardens, the property also offers the opportunity to stage small musical or cultural events, assisting in integrating the owners within a community.
The property consists of various buildings:
The main house. On the upper floor is the owners apartment which consists of a spacious through lounge with wide patio doors on two sides offering access to a private terrace and spectacular views across the Rio Trevélez valley to the mountains beyond; a modern fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar; master bedroom; bathroom; and stairs down to a second bedroom which currently doubles as an office.
On the lower floor there are two one-bedroom apartments in excellent condition which give onto a pretty internal courtyard. Also off this courtyard is the laundry and machine room.
The whole house enjoys underfloor heating and hot water provided by a heat pump.
Pathways through the landscaped gardens lead to a large garden shed and enclosed chicken house.
Continuing along the path, located in its own area enclosed by trees, is the yurt with outdoor kitchen and indoor shower room equipped with a modern Swedish compost toilet. The yurt also has its own private terrace with views across to the Sierra Lujar.
Situated at a lower level and at some distance from the yurt is the garage building. This is a 50 m2 stone-built structure which consists of two parts: a garage and a library/kitchen. The whole building is tiled and has a number of windows. With permission it could be simply and cheaply converted into further accommodation. Outside there are terraces and tables where events such as live music, poetry readings etc. have been held. There is an outside kitchen and a wood-fired pizza/bread oven. This area has its own separate access with space to park several cars if necessary.
The owners have established an association for viewing the gardens at certain times of year and have provided meals for a fixed donation. They have also occasionally offered fully inclusive walking tours, which have been very profitable and have provided lunch for other people's walking tours.
Mains electricity is connected as is mains water and the property enjoys 3.5 hours per week of acequia water to irrigate the land and gardens. There is also a 350.000 litre water store.
One of the owners is a landscape gardener and over the years the gardens have been laid out and matured in a hugely pleasing style. Amongst the gardens are various fruit trees such as apple, pear, apricots, peaches, cherry, nectarine, persimmon, mulberry, flat peach, blackberry, loganberry etc. There is also an extensive allotment for growing vegetables, a composting zone and a separate nursery/work area.
This property will provide its new owners with an economic and creative lifestyle in a beautiful location without foregoing any modern convenience.
